Hi!
Your music is great! I would love to play the lyre, kinnos or kithara! Do you know where to get one? And hw would I play it?

I love the use of lyre for the performance of Sephardic music- it simplifies the accompaniment, and, when compared to guitar, actually makes it possible (when playing maqqamat with 1/2 flats).
I am, however, having a bit of a problem finding the right lyre here in the United States. Do you have any suggestion about where I might look?
Thank you for your inspiration.

I came across this site via youtube. The music is awesome!! I play a bowed Psaltry, which to what I was told is an "version" of a lyre of David's Lyre. I do tell people the original lyre was plucked and held against the chest to "project" the sound.
Thanks for the web site,
Shalom

Great job on this page. I was immediately struck by the picture across the top. You identify it as Canaanite. It may hold a subtle clue to the further radiation of Middle Eastern cultures. Now I shall have another project to research. This is what makes this discussion so much fun, sometimes.

Dear Michael,
Hi, from Jerusalem. My friend John and I are looking for documentation on links between the ancient music of the Levites that they sang in the Temple of Jerusalem and the music of the Celts, especially modern Celtic music which has taken the world by storm since the early 1980s (example, Clanad including Enya). Looking forward to hearing from you. Shalom from Yerushalayim, Lowell Gallin and John Richards

Why could anyone at all "feel at Home" in "plastic times"? Our followers might once call us rather: "Polithicum" age of stone-built cities?

Blessings,
I just love what you have done here. I have been drawn to the harp and now have two. I have a Davidic Harp and a ministrel harp. I have decided to begin with the Davidic harp and I stumpled upon your video. I am amazed, particularly with your connection to Egypt. I need to understand more about that part for I seem to see a connection between Ancient Egypt and Ancient Israel that others do not agree with.

Mr. Levy as I listen to your music I become even more inspired to learn how to play the harp of Daiv. Tiohs has been on my heart for several years now and even though I am not versed in formal music, I know this is what I long to do. This is some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. Joyous, melodic, there is something about the tone that goes beyond the natural. Beatiful. I do have a harp already and I am looking for a music book or CD that will help me learn. However I am beginnig to understand somewhat by watching your videos. I thank you for them and I hope and pray you will continue . This is wonderful!
